Financial advisors at MassMutual face challenges getting a comprehensive picture of their practice. Information is scattered across different platforms, making it difficult to assess overall performance. Advisors often need assistance collecting and organizing relevant data to understand their practice's health. For example, client information (number of clients, household distribution, investment amounts) is disconnected from advisors’ commission amounts and progress toward conferences or recognition programs.
Design a more integrated experience that gives financial professionals an easier understanding of their practice's overall health and provide research-based recommendations for new reports that better support advisors' needs.
Reviewed a high-level business requirements document (BRD) that contained more ideas and suggestions than actual requirements. Then conducted a prioritization exercise with business stakeholders to distinguish between assumptions and knowledge.

Much of the final UI implementation was constrained by MicroStrategy's business intelligence platform. Rather than create high-fidelity mockups that couldn't be built, I focused on information architecture, stakeholder alignment, and rapid prototyping directly in the BI tool. This approach reduced wasted effort and accelerated time-to-delivery while ensuring designs were technically feasible.
Document existing knowledge and assumptions visually to review with stakeholders and create alignment and shared understanding. Iterate towards a lightweight prototype.
